We asked Northeast Ohio high schoolers to share their future plans and weigh in on the biggest issues of the day.

As we end this year, the "Sound of Ideas" is bringing you some of our favorite 2024 conversations that deserve another listen. Today's show features two discussions with people from vastly different generations– Generation Z and Baby Boomers.

Gen Z, or people between ages 12 and 27, are growing up. They're graduating high school and college, entering the workplace and even running for office.

Back in May, we spoke to a panel of high school seniors who had just completed a major accomplishment and were about to embark on their adult lives.

Later in the hour, our conversation with three local baby boomers from September.

4.1 million Americans will turn 65 this year—and every year until 2027—marking the largest retirement wave in U.S. history, with significant economic and workforce implications.

These younger baby boomers, aged 60 to 78, are navigating retirement in diverse ways. Are they enjoying the golden years or working longer than past generations? And how accurate are younger generations' perceptions of boomers?

They shared their thoughts on aging in America and the country's future. We also discussed the presidential election, whose results at that time were still unknown.
