City of Cleveland and Bedrock discuss revitalization plan for the riverfront

Rendering of renewed Cuyahoga Riverfront

Cleveland sits on not one but two waterfronts: Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River. Revitalizing those areas to benefit residents and the region economically has been a major goal for the Bibb administration. It's a long-range vision plan that stretches out over the next several decades.

The riverfront portion of the development is spearheaded by Bedrock. It's the real estate arm of Cavs owner Dan Gilbert's companies. The $3 billion-plus project seeks to transform the riverfront into a space that incorporates new housing, retail and public recreation amenities.

In October, ground was broken on a key piece of the project, the construction of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center. It will be the new training facility for the Cavs and provide wellness services for the public as well.

We're going to begin Wednesday’s “Sound of Ideas” with a discussion on the riverfront development plan for Cleveland.
