Experts have been warning of a new variant of the COVID-19 virus which is driving another spike in cases around the globe. This time, its the omicron sub-variant XBB.1.5 that's causing concern among scientists, after its rapid spread in the United States the last several weeks.
That sub-variant is reported to be the most transmissible version of the COVID-19 virus yet.
On the program, we speak with an infectious disease expert from The Cleveland Clinic and discuss the new variant.
We also get an update on the other illnesses that have been filling up hospital beds this winter; influenza and respiratory syncytial virus.
Later in the hour, a conversation with travel host Rick Steves.
