There are two seats up for election this November on the Ohio Supreme Court – and who voters elect could potentially change the political balance of the highest court in the state. Recently, two Republican incumbents, Justices Judi French and Sharon Kennedy, faced off against two Democratic challengers, Judges Jennifer Brunner and John P. O'Donnell in a debate held by the non-partisan Ohio Debate Commission, a coalition of news organizations, universities and civic groups.
On The Sound of Ideas, we'll spend the hour listening to Judicial Candidates face questions from Spectrum News anchor Curtis Jackson, and Ohio Public Radio Statehouse News Bureau Chief Karen Kasler. Whoever wins the seats could rule over important cases involving how Ohio sets its political map for the next decade.
