Each week during the pandemic, we've been highlighting a restaurant working to stay afloat by filling takeout orders. We call it Takeout Tuesday.
This week, we visit the Fairview Tavern in Fairview Park, a tiny neighborhood joint in a strip mall on Lorain Avenue. It's been there for decades and owned by the Valore family since 2006. The tavern has an active presence on social media. That's where we saw their Facebook posts about special events -- Easter, Cinco De Mayo and Mother's Day, for example -- on the Cleveland Restaurant Takeout Facebook Group.
Marketing and Social Media Manager Marie Stutz says the shutdown, and transition to takeout, has given the bar a chance to highlight its food and bring in different customers.
