Dining room tables brimming with turkeys, hams and assorted side dishes are on the minds of many Americans over the next few days. The vision of a sumptuous meal also drives the action in the new novel " The Heavenly Table" - the latest from award-winning Ohio writer Donald Ray Pollock. Pollock likes to focus on desperate characters pushed to extremes, whose stories play out in and around his hometown of Chillicothe, about an hour south of Columbus. ideastream's David C. Barnett recently paid a visit to Pollock to learn more about what inspires his work.
