Our NewsDepth A+ goes to Reegan O’Leary and Morgan Fischer who started the Bay Gives Back Initiative.
“We were talking about our favorite local restaurants and what would happen if they had to go out of business because of the shutdown. That's where it started. We wanted to help the local businesses,” Reegan said.
The Bay Give Back Initiative encourages community members to visit local businesses. The girls created a calendar that featured four businesses a month located in Bay Village, Rocky River, and Westlake.
Reegan and Morgan reached out to the city’s school principals and PTO groups to help build awareness of the program. Each month, students from each of the city's four schools were encouraged to visit a few of the nearly 65 participating businesses.
“We've always been involved in fundraising for activities and we wanted to help Bay,” Morgan said. “Businesses are always donating things to our athletic fields and programs like sports equipment and food.”
