We've been talking about the election all season, now we want you to write to us: tell us what issue is important to you when choosing a president!
“I think it is important when choosing president to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Maybe if you think about what your vote has to offer, it may become more important to others. We should vote for us, others and for America. If we just vote for the candidates everyone else is voting for, then we would just be doing it to fit in. That is what we should think about when voting.”
-Brooklyn from Waterford Elementary in Waterford
"When choosing a president, I look for kind and generous people. They must treat everyone equally, and with respect. I want them to help our environment, to protect us and to make a difference in our country. Choosing a president is important to me. Even though I can't vote, I want to know that our country is being lead by the right person.”
-Poppy from Strongsville Middle School in Strongsville
"One issue is that they provide things that people need, like food and healthcare.”
-Addison from Campus International School in Cleveland
“One of the issues that is SO important is thinking about society in the future, along with people in other states and your neighbors. It is not just about YOU. It is about society. When you cast your vote, that vote may seem like a little piece of paper, but it will change generations and generations to come. This is a big part of a issue. You can't just think about YOU!”
-Lilly from A.I. Root Middle School in Medina
"I think the most important issue when voting for a president is who has a good understanding of the people. You need to be able to understand what the people want, and not just what you think is right. For example, I could give out free brownies to everyone. That would be unfair to the people that might be allergic to brownies, so I would have to give out something else.”
-Lucy from St. Francis de Sales Parish School in Akron
