Kent State University junior and honors student Sandy Scheuer was walking to class on May 4, 1970.
She, and three other students, were shot and killed by National Guardsmen, who were responding to student protests.
The university's May 4 Visitor's Center paid tribute to the young woman with a new exhibit in her honor-- Sandy's Scrapbook, which features elements for her own personal scrapbooks.
The May 4 Center plans to commemorate the lives of the other students killed with three more exhibits over the coming two years.
The culmination will be in May 2020 -- the 50th anniversary of the shootings.
