“Dreamers” Worry About Impact Of Cancelling DACA

On Tuesday, the Trump administration announced it is phasing out the Obama-era "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program, or DACA. The program will end in six months, time enough, the president says, for Congress to take action on the matter.

DACA began with an executive order by President Obama in 2012 and protects around 800, 000 children of undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally by their parents before the age of 16. Those who qualify apply for work and study visas with the Department of Justice, giving them temporary legal status that they must renew every two years.

We examine local reaction from lawmakers -- and hear from two "dreamers".
