Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Jackson is a decorated Marine Corps veteran.
He led a combat platoon and company in Vietnam as a lieutenant and was awarded five personal medals for his bravery, including two bronze stars and a purple heart.
Earlier this month in Washington, D.C., Judge Jackson received another award for his work in creating and overseeing a court dedicated to connecting veterans to treatment services.
The Hank Pirowksi Award, presented by 'Justice for Vets,' is given to individuals who "have exemplified courage and perseverance in the mission to connect justice-involved veterans with the benefits."
