The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority hired a new chief executive officer and general manager in September. India Birdsong comes on board as the agency faces a number of challenges including declining ridership and insufficient funding to meet needs. Birdsong will join us this hour to talk about her vision and plans for the Greater Cleveland RTA including her intent to refocus on serving lower-income riders first. Then, we'll check in at the statehouse where an advocacy group pushing for near universal background checks plans to fan out on election day to gather petition signatures.
