How Often Do You Go Online?

A new Pew Research Center poll says we apparently can't get through the day without the internet.

Overall, 73% of Americans say they use the web “on a daily basis”. Of that number, one in five, or 21% report going online "almost constantly."

42% say they use the web several times a day. And 10% go online about once a day. By age: 36% of 18 to 29 year olds say they spend most of their free time online.

Among people 65 and older, just 6% report going online that much.

The Pew Research Center says this is the first time it has included "almost constantly" as an answer option in its survey of internet usage. Their phone survey polled more than 2,000 Americans over two months last summer.
