Hiram College sits at the intersection of tradition and change. It carries a strong reputation for liberal arts but must adapt to the ever-evolving demands and needs of students and the post-grad world. Hiram just got a major boost -- a $6 million dollar gift -- that will enable it to execute a pioneering curriculum makeover. To learn more about this initiative and what’s at stake for the college, ideastream's Rick Jackson met on-campus with Hiram President Lori Varlotta. They discussed the challenges facing higher education – especially in Ohio with its many small liberal arts schools -- and the opportunities Varlotta envisions for her students.
