University Hospitals has reduced the number of inpatient beds and reassigned caregivers from its Bedford and Richmond hospitals to other, higher volume UH hospitals. The two hospitals will now have 14 inpatient beds each, and UH Bedford will no longer have operating rooms.

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, there are more than 5,000 coronavirus-infected people admitted as inpatients to hospitals across Ohio. More than 1,000 of those patients are in intensive care units. Gov.
