Kent State President Todd Diacon joined other university presidents in the Mid-American Conference in voting Friday to resume football this fall. Diacon had previously voted against a season this year.
In a statement, Diacon said his decision was based on new developments, such as access to rapid antigen tests through the MAC for the team and staff. However, he said if these tests are not provided, he will reverse his decision again.
Diacon also said the marching band, cheerleaders and dance team members will be allowed to perform at home games. However, any other attendance will be extremely limited.
