Northeast Ohio folk musicians Kevin Richards and Charlie Mosbrook joined ideastream's David C. Barnett for the first Applause Performance of 2021.
Richards is the executive director of Roots of American Music while Mosbrook is the president of Folknet.

Both are musical disciples of American folk hero Woody Guthrie and each shared thoughts on how Guthrie might react to today's troubled society.
They also discussed the Piedmont blues and shared examples of this important blues, finger-picking style, which they're exploring together as part of a master/apprentice program sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council.
