Cleveland has a new hotline that residents can call to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine and, in some cases, schedule an appointment to get the shot.
When people call the hotline, at 216-664-2222, workers can help them determine if they are in one of the groups currently designated to receive the vaccine and help them make an appointment, according to a news release from the city.
The hotline, which provides information from the Cleveland Department of Public Health, is available from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
Right now, the city is only vaccinating frontline health care workers, which is group 1A.
The city received 200 doses to vaccinate the next phase, 1B, which includes people 80 years and older. Those vaccines have already been allocated to people in subsidized shared senior housing, according to the press release.
Cleveland expects to receive more doses to vaccinate more older residents, but officials aren’t sure how many they will receive from the state.
