1,000 of the world's leading heart experts are in northeast Ohio this week for a giant conference at the Cleveland Clinic. They're talking about the latest trends and breakthroughs in the treatment of heart disease. It was 40 years ago the first bypass was performed at the Cleveland Clinic and organizers are using this conference as an opportunity not only to look at what's ahead, but to look back at Cleveland's contribution to the heart field. ideastream®'s Eric Wellman spoke with Dr. Steven Nissen, Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
