Ohio reported 2,234 new coronavirus cases Saturday, its highest daily total since the start of the pandemic.
Ohio’s new daily cases have been trending upwards for most of October, since many schools resumed in-person classes.
There were also 13 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the state’s total to 5,067.

During his most recent press conference in Columbus, Gov. Mike DeWine said the state had no plans to reverse the reopening of bars, restaurants or other businesses.
“There’s a limit to what a governor could do or should do,” said DeWine. “We’re at a point where we have to just live with this virus.”
About one-third of the state’s 88 counties are now at level 3, or red, on the state’s public health advisory system. Included on that list are Cuyahoga, Summit, Portage, Mahoning and Stark Counties.
