Silver Spokes Program Provides Age-Friendly Cycling Experience For Older Adults

Cleveland’s Silver Spokes program takes to the streets this summer to provide appropriate and age-friendly cycling experiences to older residents. Partnering with Bike Cleveland, the city offered introductory sessions to introduce safety planning, modern bike equipment, and rules of the road. Held around the city this Spring, they’ve been well attended.

Rick Jackson rode over to check out one of the classes and the rides featuring age-friendly bikes, as well as standard models, as folks into their 80’s climbed aboard – many for their first bike rides in decades!
