Cleveland officials are placing the executive director of the Community Police Commission on leave amid an investigation into complaints about working environment.
In a letter to director Jason Goodrick dated April 6, city finance director Sharon Dumas wrote that staff had complained about conflicts and Goodrick’s performance. The letter said Goodrick also voiced “discomfort and dissatisfaction” with the working environment.
A statement from the CPC said that staff had "raised concerns to Commissioners about work environment" in recent months. Neither Dumas' letter nor the CPC statement explains what exactly those complaints were. Goodrick will be on paid leave for four weeks while an investigation is completed, according to the city letter.
Members of the Community Police Commission advise the city on its consent decree with the Justice Department. The CPC hired Goodrick last year to oversee the body’s small staff.
The first person hired to direct the commission, Nicole Junior, withdrew from the job and later pleaded guilty to telecommunications fraud after being accused of filing false expense reports.
