WCLV's Jacqueline Gerber chats with pianist Dianna White-Gould about the upcoming concert in connection with the Past Masters Project.
The Western Reserve Historical Society will host the opening concert for the "Past Masters, Master Teachers, and Modern Artists" series. Inspired by the ongoing 60 th anniversary celebration of the Cleveland Arts Prize, the program will include performances by Ms. White-Gould, as well as violist Christopher Jenkins, cellist Khari Joyner, tenor Cornelius Johnson, and poet Raja Belle Freeman. The program will feature works by H. Leslie Adams, Dolores White, Hale Smith, and other African American composers.
The event, Sunday, April 3, at 1:00 at the Western Reserve Historial Society, is free but tickets are required and can be reserved by clicking on the link above.
The concert is dedicated to the memory of A. Grace Lee Mims, one of the 23 co-founders of the African American Archives Auxiliary of the Western Reserve Historical Society and host of "The Black Arts" program on WCLV for 43 years, until her death in 2019.
