The summer festival season is upon Northeast Ohio. From the Akron Arts Expo to the WonderStruck music fest, there is something in store for everyone. Here are five arts events to enjoy this weekend
Akron Arts Expo
The Akron Arts Expo opens Saturday, July 24, 10 a.m – 6 p.m., and runs through Sunday, July 25, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Over 100 juried artists present a variety of arts and crafts at Hardesty Park.
Yay! Saturdays
This year’s final Yay! Saturdays event is Saturday, July 24, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Wade Oval in University Circle. The family-friendly event includes activities ranging from workshops from museums and educational partners to live music, theater and more.
WonderStruck
Lakeland Community College hosts WonderStruck, a Northeast Ohio music and arts fest on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25. Over 25 musicians and bands are set to perform over the two-day festival, including headliners Walk the Moon, Third Eye Blind, Portugal, the Man and AJR.
Thursday Market
BAYarts presents “Thursday Market,” a weekly market that features local food and art vendors, live music and more. The event is each Thursday through September 9, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., at the BAYarts campus.
'Private Lives' Exhibition
The Cleveland Museum of Art presents “ Private Lives: Home and Family in the Art of the Nabis, Paris, 1889-1900,” an exhibition of works from four members of the Nabi brotherhood, young artists who were active in Paris at the end of the 19 th century. Their art captures the small pleasures of day-to-day life. The exhibition will be on view through September 19.
