Two of ideastream’s staff have won 2014 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).
Reporter Brian Bull won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award in the “News Series” category for his profiles about Northeast Ohioans who have jobs but are just scraping by. The series, Working Poor, aired on 90.3 WCPN ideastream last August through December. This is Bull’s 10th Murrow Award.
And, 90.3 afternoon and evening anchor Tony Ganzer was awarded three 2014 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in the International category. These were for the following reports, which Ganzer covered prior to joining to ideastream in December 2013:

Feature Reporting: “Davos: Gender Gap,” Tony Ganzer, World Radio Switzerland – Geneva, Switzerland
Use of Sound: “Hindi Temple,” Tony Ganzer, World Radio Switzerland – Geneva, Switzerland
The work of both journalists will now be considered for national awards after winning in the regional categories. Congratulations to Brian and Tony!
The annual contest, sponsored by the RTDNA, has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Murrow's pursuit of excellence in journalism embodies the spirit of the awards that carry his name.
