Wednesday saw more than 10,000 new cases under the state’s new measuring system. It includes both confirmed and probable positive tests; the mother of a Black man fatally shot by an Ohio sheriff's deputy is demanding answers about her son's death; 78 inmates were infected with the coronavirus at the Cuyahoga County Jail as of Wednesday and nearly 400 more inmates are quarantining in specialized areas of the jail.

Most in-person classes will start with remote learning, and students living on campus, among others, will be subject to mandatory coronavirus testing.

"We Rate Covid Dashboards" is a group of public health and data analysts who grade university COVID-19 dashboards. The group gave Kent State an average rating of C+ for its effort to inform the college community of the prevalence of the virus during the pandemic.
