Republican incumbent Mike DeWine was elected to his first office – Greene County Prosecutor – in 1978. He’s now running for his second term as Attorney General, having served as a state senator, a Congressman, lieutentant governor, and US Senator. DeWine says he feels the most important function of the AG’s office is to protect Ohio families.
Democrat David Pepper is challenging DeWine. He was elected to his first office – Cincinnati City Council – in 2001, and has also served as a Hamilton County Commissioner and the commission’s president. This is his second statewide campaign – he was the Democratic Party’s candidate for auditor in 2010. Pepper says he feels most important function of the AG’s office is to keep people, families and communities safe.
