Along with countless other cities today, Cleveland and Cuyahoga County submitted their bid for Amazon’s second headquarters.
Mayor Frank Jackson and County Executive Armond Budish announced the submission in a video posted to YouTube.
Jackson didn’t share details about the bid, calling it “proprietary and competitive.”
But he said it “portrays the city of Cleveland’s momentum, its livability, geographical advantages and other major assets that we have as a city and as a county.”
The city and county work on the bid together with the state, the Greater Cleveland Partnership, JobsOhio, Team NEO and other groups, according to a news release.
“This is a very competitive situation,” Budish said. “But we are confident that Cleveland has what it takes, that our region has what it takes. And we’re excited, very excited, about the prospect of Amazon coming here.”
